Beana/Anne is trying to say “Yes” to life. To creativity. To actions of healing. They reside along Kapskuk. Beana is reckoning with their role on Mother Earth as an artist & ancestor of English Colonists & Greek Immigrants. Stewarding home/land, family and community is their work in life.

Beana studied communications design at Pratt Institute. They are the mother of 3, spouse to the amazing Rafi and love to eat with the seasons. Pie crust makes them think of their grandmother. Pine forests remind them of Cape Cod.

Anne is happy to talk queer allyship, contemplate rural landscapes, brew you a cuppa, or imagine the possibilities. They focus on community connectivity along these shores. Anne is focused on their artistic process as a way of being in their life.

Professionally Beana works with Upward Bound for Bowdoin College. Beana is also aa Advising Facilitator for The Downeast Rainbow Alliance. They go by Anne and Beana equally, so no worries what you call them. You can find them many Sunday mornings at Cobscook Friends Meeting.

Beana grew up on Pine Street, north of the Harraseeket River in Abenaki Territory. They were assigned female at birth and identify as genderqueer. Annie attended Soule School in Freeport, Maine, where they embraced independence and community song. They believe life long (un)learning is vital to their journey.

As a person with depression Bean has focused their life feeling deeply and learning about awareness. They are always trying to do better. To learn more. To be kind. Sometimes they fail, sometimes they succeed. Self love and acceptance are critical themes to their life.

Anne is really into being chill, immersive making, diving deep and resting. They encourage you to reach out to them if you have a collaborative concept.
